Daniel Joseph Dirks Obituary

Daniel Joseph Dirks, 62, of Yuba City, passed away on September 2, 2018 after a nine month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born February 15, 1956 in Marysville and was a lifelong resident of Yuba City.

He was a 1975 graduate of Yuba City High School. At 18 years old he met the love of his life, Patty and they married October 21, 1978. A year later he opened his own business, Dirks Welding. He continued to weld and create works of art until the end. He did commercial harvesting of prunes and pistachios for many years and his favorite hobbies were collecting old cars, tractors, insulators and much more. He faithfully attended Sunday swap meets, Edsel conventions, tractor shows, insulator swaps and walleye fishing in Canada with his buddies.

He is survived by his wife Patty of 40 years, Precious daughter, Brittany Dirks-Barlow, son-in-law Josh Barlow, twin grandchildren Levi and Lillian Barlow and grand-dog Woody all of Yuba City, his siblings Raymond, Harold, Daryl, Mary, twin sisters, Priscilla and Cynthia and twin brother, David.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Helen Dirks of Yuba City and infant sister, Judith.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 7th and C Street in Marysville on Friday, September 7th, 2018 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Museum of the Forgotten Warriors at 5865 A Road, Marysville, CA 95901 or a charity of your choice.
